Autumn Arts Retreat
March 24, 2018 @ 8:15 am - March 25, 2018 @ 4:45 pm
Come together at our Autumn Retreat and immerse yourself in a weekend of visual and creative arts, fine food, wine and music. During 2018, we will celebrate the 50th McGregor Arts Retreat making it the longest running residential performing, visual and creative arts retreat in Australia. McGregor Retreats are for people of all levels to come together in a friendly environment where creativity is encouraged and beautiful art is created.
Learn how to make your own cheese, become a winemaker for a weekend or perhaps you’d like to master the art and craft of songwriting.
If painting or drawing is your indulgence, learn from Australia’s most prominent visual artists who are specialists in their field. Hosting a workshop for the first time in Queensland, join Archibald People’s Choice Award winner, mixed media artist Esther Erlich, watercolourist and Living Master Gordon Hanley, or the chic and timeless Melbourne-based fashion illustrator Angie Rehe.
Along with your choice of workshop, retreat together with like-minded people and enjoy a weekend of seasonal food from award winning restaurant Varias for morning, afternoon tea and lunch. For dinner, indulge in the abundance of quality ingredients available in the region showcasing Stanthorpe’s ‘local heroes’, the farmers and artisan producers of the Granite Belt.
Finish your Saturday with an optional Granite Belt region wine tasting and cheese appreciation session. Following this, move to Varias for a sensational evening meal and be treated to a magical performance with award-winning musicians.
Park the car at the accommodation provided in the package and jump on the bus to and from the Retreat each day.
