The Gateway Schools to Food, Wine and Tourism Program is proud to partner with Varias Restaurant and Executive Chef Andrew Simpson, who will take you through the steps in creating and preparing a delicious chicken dish starting with a whole chicken and not wasting a thing, and focusing on using it all.  Learn new skills and transfer that to your next lesson.

Chef Drew was QCWT’s inaugural Chef in 2007 and continues to dish up new, exciting and innovative dishes in Varias Restaurant and Cellar Door.  Drew uses quality ingredients available in the region, showcasing our ‘local heroes’, the farmers and artisan producers of the Granite Belt.  Varias Restaurant under the direction of Chef Drew has been awarded the Restaurant and Caterers Awards Best Restaurant in a Winery for four years running.  Prior to joining the QCWT team, Chef Drew owned his own restaurants in Brisbane and on the Granite Belt and boasts 30 years in the industry.
